Our clinic uses a diverse range of medications, products and modalities to effectively manage and treat your pain.
The interscalene brachial block uses the following medication:
Bupivacaine is a long-acting local anesthetic that numbs the targeted area for several hours, providing immediate pain relief.
The interscalene brachial block technique involves direct injection into the interscalene space, using ultrasound guidance.
The main aim of this treatment is to reduce pain rapidly and considerably, while encouraging the physiotherapy often associated with it.
The success of interscalene brachial block treatment varies according to the type of pathology and the patient’s pain history.
The interscalene brachial block offers relief to patients suffering from shoulder and upper arm pain. The procedure reduces pain intensity and improves range of motion and overall mobility of the affected areas. It is used in conjunction with a physiotherapy and rehabilitation program. Patients generally enjoy relief lasting several hours or even days. By specifically targeting the nerve roots of the brachial plexus, interscalene brachial blocks help manage chronic pain and offer a tailor-made solution for improved function.
Chronic pain isn't just physical, it's emotional too. You're not alone, and we're here to help.

An interscalene brachial block is a procedure in which a local anesthetic is injected near the brachial plexus in the neck to relieve pain and discomfort in the shoulder, arm and hand regions.
Patients suffering from chronic pain, such as capsulitis of the shoulder or arm, may be good candidates for an interscalene brachial block.
During the procedure, the patient is made comfortable and the injection site is numbed using a local anesthetic. Using ultrasound or palpation, a needle is inserted close to the nerve roots of the brachial plexus, and a local anesthetic solution is injected to block pain signals.
The duration of pain relief after interscalene brachial block can vary, but many patients experience relief for several hours or days after the procedure.
Interscalene brachial block is generally very safe. However, as with any procedure, there are risks such as temporary numbness, infection at the injection site or allergic reactions.
Interscalene brachial blocks can be repeated. Most patients require treatment every 1-2 weeks in combination with mobilization physiotherapy.
We're committed to compassionate care and giving our patients the tools they need to live life to the fullest despite the challenges of chronic pain.
